What is an RFE?
An RFE (Request for Evidence) is a notice from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) asking for additional documents or clarification before making a decision on your visa or Green Card application.
Visa Type
Temporary work visa (nonimmigrant) – limited to Canadian and Mexican citizens in designated professions.
Benefits
Provides a streamlined way for Canadian and Mexican professionals already in the U.S. to work legally. Processing is typically faster than other visas, and there is no annual cap like the H-1B.
Extension
Initially valid for up to 3 years, with unlimited 3-year extensions available as long as employment continues.
Relatives
Spouses and children under 21 can accompany TN visa holders under TD visas. While TD dependents cannot work in the U.S., they can study.
