Background: The client was married to a US citizen, who sponsored him for a green card. However, he had a criminal incident in his past that could have been fatal to his green card case.
My work: We requested all records about the incident, and performed a careful analysis of the applicable law. We worked with a client to draft a statement addressing the issue and prepared a legal memo of the applicable law to make it clear to the government that he should still be granted a green card despite his past. We also personally represented him during the green card interview to make sure there were no issues at that stage.
